When Stephanie Brandenburg rolled out Frond Design Studios in January of 2012, she was determined to make her mark on the fabric world. She was extremely passionate about being a female founder. She had been on the retail side of the business working in her mom's store for over 20 years. When she went to Quilt Market in Houston she realized many of the fabric companies were owned by men. She had experienced this primarily woman driven industry on the retail side and was taken aback to skim over men in suits in the booths.
She decided then and there to be one of the few woman owned fabric producers in the industry. Her goal was to bring fine art to fabric and energize the women and men who were touched by her designs. Now, over a decade has gone by. Stephanie Brandenburg still designs everything by hand. Her vivid colors jump off the canvases and into the fabric and ultimately the quilts and garments you all create. Right before the pandemic, Stephanie was honored to partner with Northcott Fabrics The fledgling company that is Frond Design Studios would never have survivied that difficult time. Stephanie is so proud to work with a great group of people who make up the Northcott family.
She has been hoarding her original paintings due to the unique history of Frond. But as she always tells her clients, "Use your fabrics! There will always be more!" So in that sentiment she decided to sell her original paintings.
